School of life sciences launches laboratory safety education fire drill in Yuzhong Campus October 13,2022 In order to improve the fire awareness of teachers and students and enhance the ability of teachers and students to deal with fire, especially in laboratory fires, on the afternoon of June 21, 2018, with the help and support of the school security department, the College of Life Sciences launched a fire drill for laboratory safety education in front of Helan Hall in Yuzhong Campus. Relevant person in charge and staff of the College of Life Sciences, part of the experimental teachers in the experimental center, part of the graduate students in the drought laboratory, and representatives of all classes of undergraduate students from Grade 1 to Grade 3 participated in the activities. At the beginning of the activity, Xu Wenpeng, as the deputy dean in charge of safety and stability, stressed to the teachers and students the importance of doing a good job in laboratory safety. Then, Yang Wenjun, a fire engineer from Gansu Jindongheng Fire Inspection Co., Ltd, explained the fire fighting knowledge to the teachers and students participating in the fire drill, and introduced in detail the use steps and precautions of different fire types, different fire extinguishers and fire extinguishers, and gave a fire fighting demonstration. Subsequently, the participating teachers and students dressed in experimental clothes, one by one operation, on-site ignition of the simulated flame extinguishing, a preliminary grasp of the use of various fire extinguishers and laboratory fire disposal methods.
